… to non-plasmists … The field of plasma technologies is open to students from a variety of academic backgrounds, including Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry and Mathematics. A training in plasma science and technology is an excellent preparation for a graduate in Chemical Engineering who is considering, for example, a career in the microelectronics industry, and an electrical engineer will feel at home with the manipulation of electrical and magnetic fields involved in the application of plasma technologies to industrial surface finishing. Plasma technologies are undergoing a period of healthy growth in the industrial setting, and a recent graduate with a solid background in plasma science is sure to be in high demand … … to those considering graduate studies … The member universities of the PlasmaQuebec consortium offer a number of M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs directly related to plasma science and technology.
